House price growth stalls

HOUSE prices have hit an affordability “ceiling” which is keeping a lid on any rises, says online portal Rightmove. It reports asking prices largely flat in July, with the average UK property valued just 0.1pc higher than in June. The annual rate of growth was just 2.8pc – putting the average asking price for a home at £316,421.
