Teenager charged with acid attacks on six moped riders

- By Harry Yorke

AN ACID attack victim could lose sight in one eye, a court heard yesterday, as a 16-year-old boy charged in connection with a spate of attacks in London last Thursday denied attacking six moped riders with a noxious liquid.

Appearing at Stratford Youth Court, the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, rose only to confirm his name, age and address, before pleading not guilty to 13 charges.

He is charged with GBH with intent, possession of a weapon designed to discharge a noxious liquid, two counts of robbery, four counts of attempted robbery and five counts of attempted GBH with intent. He is accused of targeting six male moped riders across East London within a 72-minute window on Thursday evening.

The youth, from Croydon, south London, who was remanded in custody, was arrested on Saturday.

He will face trail at Wood Green Crown Court, London, on Aug 14.
