London asking prices up in July

Asking prices in England and Wales rose 0.1pc in the month to July 8, stabilising after a drop in June, according to Rightmove data. However, this was largely thanks to gains in London and across most of England asking prices fell on a month-on-month basis. The property portal said it appeared that “we have left the stage of the cycle where price rises exceed the rate of inflation”.
