Bauxite gives Rio Tinto a boost

Rio Tinto revised down its guidance for production of hard coking coal in 2017 due to the devastation caused by Cyclone Debbie in Australia earlier this year. However, the miner said its performance in the recently ended second quarter had been “solid”. Production of aluminium and mined copper was down year on year, but production of bauxite rose 7pc.
