‘Noxious’ liquid thrown at paramedic

-

♦ A paramedic was attacked with a “noxious substance” when she stopped to help three men who flagged her down on her way to a 999 call.

The 32-year-old had the liquid sprayed in her face as she responded to a call about a patient suffering from chest pain. London Ambulance Service said the trio appeared to be in distress in Tottenham Hale, north London, at about 1.30am on Sunday. But as she stopped to see if they were all right, the men pulled up bandannas to cover their faces. One man threw liquid at her, which she feared was acid after a spate of attacks across London.

The liquid was not acid, but was a “noxious substance” that caused irritation to the paramedic, who was taken to hospital but later discharged.
