Builders push up urban land prices

Demand for new homes in regional cities has boosted the price of urban land, with smaller housebuilders snapping up almost double the amount in the last year due to increased Government funds and more accessible finance. Savills found the price of urban land rose 4pc year on year, while prices for greenfield land climbed by only 1pc as demand centred on regional cities.
