Online terrorists Police struggle to tackle threat
Cressida Dick, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, said four plots had been foiled in the last six months, but said officers were struggling to tackle online terrorists.
Encrypted sites allow propaganda to be peddled and information to be shared in secrecy, with officers unable to monitor their activities.
Miss Dick said: “Increasingly, encryption frustrates our investigations every day. And we have large numbers of apparently volatile individuals in the UK, some of whom become determined to die, who may have been inspired largely through the web.”
