Danger in the field
SIR – A word of caution to those acting on Diana Pollock’s advice to carry a big stick and shout at any cow sticking its nose into your business (Letters, July 22): first make sure it is not a bullock.
Remember that the bull’s DNA has not been castrated and that danger always lurks behind that wet nose and rough tongue. Indeed, if you notice a “cow” suddenly paw the ground or snort, retreat unobtrusively but swiftly towards safety. Huw Beynon
