Sage buys US firm Intacct for $850m

Sage has agreed to buy US cloud-based software provider Intacct for $850m (£654m), made up of cash and share options. Britain’s largest software company, Sage, said it was buying the business as demand shifted towards the cloud, and to open up “huge opportunit­ies” in the North American market. The purchase comes as Sage continues its transforma­tion to become a leader in accounting software.
