 “One man’s struggle to take it easy” ran the tag-line for John Hughes’s riotous comedy, in which Matthew Broderick’s highschool slacker goes to town (well, Chicago) after playing hookey with his girlfriend and best mate. Written-off Ferraris, hijacked parade floats and a fuming headmaster (Jeffrey Jones) trail in Ferris’s wake. Dirty Dancing’s Jennifer Grey stars as Ferris’s sulky sister.
