Harvester owner sees share surge

Shares in Mitchells & Butler rose 21pc yesterday, after the owner of the Harvester and All Bar One chains said like-for-like sales of drinks had frothed in the period since the start of May, accelerating from the start of the year. Total sales in the year to date are up 3.1pc, the group said, but warned that cost pressures would squeeze its margins.
