Criminal groped court security guard

A CRIMINAL who was appearing in court on an assault charge groped a female security guard, telling her “you’re a right sort”.

Michael Holohan was being searched by the female dock officer at a court in London, when he sexually assaulted her. The 35-yearold squeezed the officer’s bottom and forced his hand between her legs. Holohan then told her: “I think I’m going down, but it’s OK because you’re a right sort.”

He was quickly restrained by the dock officer’s male colleague and was arrested and charged with the offence. The female security officer, who had spent many years dealing with dangerous offenders, was said to have been left deeply upset by the incident, which took place on June 27.

Prosecutor Neehal Patel told Willesden magistrates court that the victim, who was an experienced member of staff, had been reduced to tears and was left deeply traumatised by the attack.

The court heard Holohan had two previous convictions, for assault and possession of a bladed instrument. Holohan, from Edgware in north London, admitted sexual assault and the case was adjourned for reports.

His victim was understood to be receiving support from her colleagues.
