Different class of trip

SIR – How right Bryony Gordon is about school trips (Features, July 29).

Mine – some years ago – included a trip to Huntley & Palmers biscuit factory in Reading, a visit to SS Carnarvon Castle in Southampton and a trip down a coal mine near Bath.

My 15-year-old granddaughter has just returned from a week-long school trip to Hong Kong, with pending visits to Madagascar and Iceland.
