Moody’s upbeat over bank buffers

UK banks are strong enough to stay profitable through any likely stress from an economic slowdown, as the time they spent building up capital buffers is paying off, analysts at Moody’s believe. The ratings agency has raised its outlook for five major banks and building societies, including Nationwide and Santander.
