Moody’s up­beat over bank buf­fers

UK banks are strong enough to stay prof­itable through any likely stress from an eco­nomic slow­down, as the time they spent build­ing up cap­i­tal buf­fers is pay­ing off, an­a­lysts at Moody’s be­lieve. The rat­ings agency has raised its out­look for five ma­jor banks and build­ing so­ci­eties, in­clud­ing Na­tion­wide and Santander.
