What children need

SIR – How right Richard Page, the former NHS director, was in stating it is better for a child to be brought up by a man and a woman (report, August 2). I wonder what Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, which suspended him for saying it, thinks is best for a child. It’s time we stood up for free expression. Paul Williams
