Holly Bradshaw, pole vault

-

I’m quite a geek so I always have a sheet of paper with my entire day written down. The top half is a timeline and the bottom half has cues and quotes to gee me up.

In London I’m competing around 7pm both evenings so I’ll get up about 9am and then go down for breakfast, which is an omelette and fruit. Then I’ll do a 30-minute shakeout, and also do some explosive lifts just to get the muscles firing. I like doing activation in the morning because otherwise I feel sluggish. Then I’ll probably go and have a coffee, then lunch, and then another coffee!

I work out when my competition starts and work back from there. I like to be organised. I have a lunch box with an isotonic drink, protein shake, protein gel, banana and cereal bar. When I’m nervous I start to feel hungry and then I get panicky, so I like to have a lot of snacks with me.
