VW exec pleads guilty to violating clean air laws

A second Volkswagen executive, Oliver Schmidt, has pleaded guilty to criminal charges in a case linked to the diesel emissions scandal. Mr Schmidt admitted to violating clean air laws and conspiring to mislead US regulators. He faces up to seven years in prison and a fine. He is the second executive to plead guilty, after VW engineer James Robert Liang.
