Crash survivor found clinging to buoy

-

♦ One person has died and two more are feared dead after a group of Romanian friends on a fishing trip reportedly crashed into a larger vessel in the English Channel.

The fourth crew member was rescued after he was found clinging to a buoy at around 5am yesterday.

The 45-year-old is thought to have been forced to hold on to the buoy off the coast near Shoreham, West Sussex, for up to three hours before being spotted, the Coastguard said.

The alarm was raised to search for remaining crew members and a body was discovered around three hours later.

Det Chief Insp Rachel Carr said Sussex Police were trying to identify the other vessel involved.
