Phone operator fined £900,000

KCOM, the operator of broadband and telephone networks in Hull, has been hit with a £900,000 fine after failing to provide an emergency call service for around four hours in 2015 due to flooding. Regulator Ofcom said there were “serious weaknesses” in the service, which should be able to automatica­lly divert emergency calls.
