Nephew discovered murder film on laptop
A judge has hit out at police blunders which led to a nephew discovering a film of his uncle being murdered.
Jason Marshall, 28, wrapped Peter Fasoli with cling film and set fire to the 58-year-old’s bungalow in Northolt, west London, to destroy evidence on Jan 7 2013. Police had no idea Marshall had been to Mr Fasoli’s flat and concluded that he had died in an accidental fire. But he had unwittingly filmed his death on a laptop, which his nephew later discovered. Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC, the Recorder of London, asked why investigators did not examine Mr Fasoli’s financial records or his social media accounts, which showed he had a visitor.
