Juncker’s jammy jaunts come as no surprise
SIR – My only surprise about the report (August 10) that EU officials spend tens of thousand on private jets and luxury hotels is that they have produced figures at all.
As an accountant, my main reason for voting Leave was that those who rule over us are not trustworthy and don’t keep proper financial records. Brian Foster

SIR – Surely the biggest EU travel expenses scandal is the pointless shuttling of the entire European Parliament between Brussels and Strasbourg.
This costs approximately
£150 million a year and delivers zero value to taxpayers. What is more, the EU has never justified it and most MEPS have actually voted against it.
Any institution with an ounce of sense or conscience would have put a stop to this beacon of chronic profligacy years ago. Its continuation is one of the main reasons I voted for Brexit. Stephen Kemp

SIR – Reports of Jean-claude Juncker’s €24,000 plane trip are just the news we need as we head towards Brexit.
The millions of pounds we are currently pouring into the EU each week can be put to much better use here than by Mr Juncker and his friends. Mick Ferrie
