Rise in Tritax warehouse profits

DEMAND for large warehouses is continuing to outstrip supply, as one of the main players in the market said it was “surprised” at the rate at which the value of buildings is rising, writes Rhiannon Bury. Tritax Big Box REIT said that in the UK there was currently only one used and no new “big box” buildings – of more than 500,000 sq ft – vacant and available to let.

In the first half, the value of its portfolio jumped 3.3pc to 133.3p per share. Pre-tax profits rose 49.9pc to £80.5m.
