Oil exit pays off for Dong Energy

Dong Energy’s retreat from the oil industry has paid off with a three-fold profit boom powered by the UK’S spinning wind turbines. It exited the market a few years ago, shortly before prices plunged. For the three months to June, the Danish group reported a 200pc boom in pre-tax profits to Dkr2.8bn (£340m) from Dkr830m a year ago.
