What will be the tactics?
Huddersfield were a side which liked to dominate possession in the Championship, with a high energy, high-press game. That is going to be more difficult now, but David Wagner is a bold manager so they will not merely look to contain.
Who looks the most
exciting signing? Steven Mounie. The £11m club record purchase from Montpellier has been signed to bolster the threat from a team that only scored 56 goals in 46 games last season. Which unknown could make a name for themselves? Tommy Smith. The right-back emerged from Huddersfield’s youth team and was a key figure in the team that secured promotion last season. Who’s the one player they cannot do without? Aaron Mooy (above). The Australian spent last season on loan from Manchester City and was a huge hit in west Yorkshire. He is the metronome in Huddersfield’s midfield and Wagner made the move permanent as soon as promotion was secured. How safe is the manager? Wagner is already assured of legend status at Huddersfield after completely transforming the club. It is more likely Jurgen Klopp’s former assistant at Borussia Dortmund is poached than sacked. Who would be the most appropriate celebrity fan? Michael Palin: much-beloved son of Yorkshire who attracted a whole new audience after expanding horizons.
