A British harvest worthy of the Mediterranean

I mowed my lawn for the final time last year on Christmas Eve; the orange tree we planted some time ago is boasting a number of burgeoning fruits; our fig trees are doing well and promising a good harvest; and our olive tree modestly promises a single olive.
