Older magistrates
SIR – The Government remains adamant that magistrates must retire at 70, but continues to allow jurors to be summoned until they are 75.
I do hope that my enforced retirement will not be interrupted by a jury summons over the next five years. I would feel bound to decline, given that the Government believes I am not judicially compos mentis. John Crosthwaite-eyre JP
