Bitcoin record streak continues

Bitcoin remained above the $4,000 (£3,080) mark, having hit the milestone over the weekend, and risen from $963 at the start of 2017. Bitcoin split in two earlier this month, as backers disagreed on the best way to deal with the strain placed on it by a surge in popularity, intensified due to it being thought of as a safe haven.
