Profit warning at Laura Ashley

Shares in Laura Ashley fell 18pc after the fashion and furnishings retailer said trading conditions remained “demanding” and its annual profit would be hit by a £2.8m impairment charge. It said, as such, its profit figure would be “materially below market expectations”. Its pre-tax profit after exceptional items last year was £23.9m.
