Southern Salads in administration

Fresh salads supplier Southern Salads has fallen into administration with the loss of around 260 jobs. Administrators FRP Advisory said the firm had invested heavily in 2014 to expand, hitting cashflow. It then struggled to cope with rising cost of importing vegetables from Europe when sterling fell after the EU referendum.
