Gem Diamonds swings to profit

Shares in Gem Diamonds ticked up 2.6pc, after it reported a swing to profit in the first six months of the year. Gem, which mines diamonds in Lesotho and Botswana, said lower production and a decline in the average price per carat caused its revenue to fall, but it posted a profit after an impairment booked a year earlier did not repeat.
