Bitcoin hits new height of $4,500

Digital currency Bitcoin soared to a new high of $4,500 (£3,490) yesterday, as the value of the currency continued to rise following a recent split between its backers. The cryptocurrency has grown steadily over the past two weeks since it experienced a “hard fork”, after two competing strands of Bitcoin emerged.
