The boy from the celebrated 1973 Hovis bread advert has finally conquered the cobbled hill 44 years later – on an electric bicycle. Retired firefighter, Carl Barlow, now 58, appeared in the commercial, right, aged 13, and he returned to Gold Hill, Shaftesbury, Dorset, to pedal up it non-stop using the modern form of transport.
