John Deere raises sale forecasts for the year

John Deere, the world’s largest heavy machinery maker, said its quarterly profit came in better than expected, boosted by demand for farm equipment from South America. The US manufacturer, seen as an economic bellwether, now expects sales for the year to the end of October to rise by 10pc.
