Dogs search Indian train wreck for crash survivors
Emergency crews used sniffer dogs and gas-powered saws to cut open mangled carriages yesterday, searching for any further victims after a train crash in India killed 23 passengers.
Another 156 people were injured when 14 carriages came off the tracks and piled on top of one another in Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh state, 80 miles from New Delhi, on Saturday evening.
The express train derailed at 62 miles per hour, crashing into houses and a college. It was the fourth major accident this year on the network.
