Seven police to tackle Yorkshire terrier Alfie

SCOTLAND Yard sent seven police officers to seize a “dangerous” Yorkshire terrier after a delivery driver said it chased and bit him.

Ten-year-old Alfie was taken by the police on Friday but his distraught owner, Claudia Settimo-bovio, 73, accused them of overreacting. She explained that when she went outside her home in Kingston, south-west London, to collect a parcel, the driver was still there and Alfie bolted towards him.

She said: “He was screaming ‘he’s killing me’. He fell over. My neighbour came out and picked up the dog.

“He is not vicious. He’s not a rottweiler; he’s a little Yorkshire terrier.”
