Miner Kenmare back in the black

Mining group Kenmare has swung back to profit after enjoying a recovery in the market for ilmenite, a mineral used in pigments.

Kenmare, which operates a large mine in Mozambique, reported a pre-tax profit of $9.8m (£7.6m) in the six months to June 30, from a loss of $49m a year ago, and said its growth is “broad-based”.
