Student who tried to sell laughing gas sentenced
A geography student has become one of the first people sentenced for intending to supply laughing gas.
Nicholas Chroussis, 22, of Wood Green, north London, pleaded guilty at Lewes Crown Court to possessing nitrous oxide, also known as hippy crack, with intent to supply at the Boundary music festival in Brighton.
Sussex Police said after: “Possession with intent to supply a psychoactive substance became an offence under the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016. This is believed to have been one of the first prosecutions of its kind in the country.” Chroussis was given a suspended six-month jail sentence.
