Gardeners should stop pulling up dandelions and instead “allow a little disorder” to help bees, Monty Don said.

The amateur beekeeper and gardening pro said the plight of Britain’s bees was desperate and without more help there would be “no pollinatio­n, no food, no more mankind.

“Evidence shows that bees prefer native species including gorse, willow, hawthorn, oak and dandelion.”
