Retail woes Shops suffer worst growth since EU poll

Retailers have suffered their worst month of sales growth since the weeks following the EU referendum, CBI figures have shown.

Its latest distributive trades survey revealed that sales in the year to August were below the seasonal average with the number of orders placed with suppliers also falling considerably, indicating that the majority of firms do not expect a swift pick-up.
