Carnival kaleidoscope

Colourful costumes were the order of the day as the Notting Hill Carnival got under way in the sunshine yesterday, with hundreds of thousands of people attracted to the annual two-day event. Revellers observed a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire in June.
