Hammer attack survivor Josie Russell is to marry

-

Josie Russell, who survived a hammer attack that killed her mother and sister more than 20 years ago, has revealed she is getting married.

The 30-year-old was walking along a country lane in Kent with her mother, Lin, and six-year-old sister, Megan, in 1996 when they were attacked by heroin addict Michael Stone. Her mother and sister died, and she suffered severe head injuries.

Miss Russell has now announced her engagement to her boyfriend of 12 years, Iwan Griffith.

The couple met in a pub in Wales, where Miss Russell and her father, Shaun, returned to live after the attack.

She is now working on an autobiography, as well as working as a textile artist.
