Banned driver jailed after 115mph car chase

A banned driver raced through busy city streets at 115mph in 30mph zones as he tried to evade police.

His high-speed journey on roads in Birmingham and Solihull in a high performance £85,000 BMW M3 was captured on West Midlands Police dash-cams and by a force helicopter before ending when he hit a traffic island and smashed into a car at a petrol station last Sept 23.

Kamar Farooq, 30, was found guilty of dangerous driving and driving while disqualified and he was jailed for two-and-a-half years at Birmingham Crown Court.
