Boy, 16, questioned over crash that killed man

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a car crash that left a man dead and a baby in hospital.

The crash happened on the A449 at Wombourne near Wolverhampton at about 6.30pm on Sunday.

A five-month-old baby, the child’s mother, aged 23, and a 49-year-old woman were taken to hospital as a precaution. A 51-year-old man died. Staffordshire Police said that a teenager had been questioned and released pending further inquiries. A force spokesman added: “A detailed investigation into the circumstances of the collision is now under way.”
