Germany extradites bank cyber attacker back to UK
A Briton accused of launching cyber attacks against two of the UK’S largest banks has been extradited from Germany. Daniel Kaye, 29, is accused of orchestrating “botnet” attacks that targeted Lloyds Banking Group and Barclays in January.
The attack on Lloyds prevented some Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers using their online accounts.
Mr Kaye, of Egham, Surrey, will appear in custody at Westminster magistrates’ court in London today to face nine charges under the Computer Misuse Act, two of blackmail and one of possession of criminal property.
