Don’t mention the kids

SIR – I heartily agree with Shane Watson (Features, August 29) that some topics should be off-limits in conversation. A group of friends and I meet regularly. We have adopted a rule of chatting about health, kids and animals for five minutes only.

Last week, other topics included men’s and women’s soccer, where to pick the best damsons and differences between iphones and Androids. Ros Fitton
