Suspected terrorists

SIR – Over the past 13 years, the Government has deported only 11 people suspected of being a threat to public safety and national security (report, August 29).

France has deported 120 suspected terrorists. Clearly French politicians are far more attuned than their British counterparts to the principle of protecting their own people. Hugh Jones
