‘London MPS are out of touch on race’
♦ Sarah Champion, the Labour frontbencher sacked by Jeremy Corbyn after speaking out about grooming gangs, has claimed that her party is failing to confront difficult questions on race because many London-based MPS have never been exposed to “reality” outside of their “tolerant, multicultural world”. She said Labour’s policies on multiculturalism failed to understand areas outside the capital. “London is not representative of the UK and it’s definitely not representative of the north of England in relation to race,” she told The Times. “Rotherham and many post-industrial towns are still segregated.”
