Egyptian family ‘targets of arson attack on flats’
A refugee family of four have said they fear for their lives after a “deliberate” arson attack on their home.
No one was injured in the fire at a block of flats in the Wester Hailes area Edinburgh on Saturday, but police said they were investigating as they believe it was a deliberate attack.
The occupants are an Egyptian family who moved to Scotland from Wales in July last year. The father, who does not want to be named, told the BBC: “I heard my wife screaming, calling on me to wake up. I never thought this was going to happen to us in Scotland.”
