‘Bullied’ mother killed herself on birthday

 A young mother killed herself on her 23rd birthday after being bullied by internet trolls including one who set up a fake Tinder account for her, her family said yesterday.

They said that police were given the name of one of the people suspected of tormenting Leanne Morrison, from Cambusbarron, near Stirling, but it was not clear whether any action was being taken. She is thought to have ended her life after she returned from a night out celebrating her birthday on Aug 29. The mother was described as being the “life and soul of the party” who “lived for” her four-year-old son.

Friends on social media said she had suffered from depression and a recent relationship had broken down, as well as online bullying. “It was bullies that drove her to this,” one family member told the Daily Record.

Police Scotland said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
