Police name brothers swept off Cornish coast

-

Two brothers who were swept into the sea while fishing off rocks in Cornwall, have been named by police.

Charles Allen, 21, and Dr Robert Allen, 30, were knocked into the water off Treyarnon Bay near Padstow, Cornwall, at about 2.35pm on Monday.

The keen fishermen, from Bristol, were on holiday in Cornwall with family when the tragedy happened.

Mr Allen was rescued within minutes of a 999 call being made but was pronounced dead at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

Despite extensive searches by Coastguard rescue teams, police and Padstow RNLI lifeboat, Dr Allen has not yet been found.
